As Cumbria enters Tier 4 restrictions, after communication with members of the PCC, and in line with government guidelines, Rev Ian has taken the decision to keep our churches open for public worship and has shared the following statement:

Despite the mixed messages of ‘stay at home’, ‘no mixing’ and ‘churches are open for communal worship’ I have now decided that we will continue as we are for the present.

This decision has not been easy to make and will no doubt sit easier with some than others, however, for now it is the way forward. I will continue to monitor the situation and any changes in guidance over the coming weeks.

As the next government review is due on 13th January 2021 I will say that we will offer public worship, Sunday and Thursday, to those wishing to attend in the weeks beginning 3rd and 10th January. If anything changes I will of course let you know straight away.

Thank you for your continued support.

Ian
