The Church of England has issued updated guidance for Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals. This can be found here in detail
In brief it is as follows:
Baptisms can still place but with minimum attendees i.e. parents and godparents only. If families choose to postpone the church will work with them to find a new date.
Weddings can still take place but with the minimum required legal attendees only, that is the officiant, bride and groom and two witnesses. During the suspension of public worship banns cannot be read and so the couple will need, with the help of the vicar, to apply for a common licence in order for the wedding to proceed.
Funerals can still take place but will be limited to immediate family members attending. The advice is that no organist will attend – we can look at other ways of incorporating music within the service, and vergers or churchwardens are also advised not to attend. Those attending will be advised to follow ‘social distancing’ guidance and keep a recommended 2 metres apart.
